Airdrie Podiatrist & Foot Clinic

Physicians here at The Foot Institute – Airdrie concentrate on the surgical and medical therapy of the foot and ankle. Foot Institute Podiatrists spend an average of 10 years in higher education, the first 4 years in undergrad studies to attain a Bachelors Degree, and the following four years in Medical School to secure a Podiatric Medical Degree. Podiatric Medical School is similar to conventional medical school and in reality numerous podiatry programs are located inside these academic institutions. After achieving a Podiatric Medial Degree, Doctors at the Foot Institute perform a hospital "internship" or post degree residency for another one to three years.

At the conclusion of the internship or residency, our Foot doctors have gained extensive health care training with an importance on difficulties pertaining to the ankles and feet. Foot Institute Doctors are trained to manage conditions ranging from normal afflictions like fungal and ingrown toenails, to those which are far more complicated such as clubfoot, bunions, or reconstructive surgery of the foot. Our physicians have thorough surgical education which furnish them the experience necessary to execute surgery on those problems that are ideally handled through surgical treatment.

Doctors at the Foot Institute likewise have an extensive expertise and understanding of biomechanics, which is the study of the forces which the feet and legs go through as we walk, run or perform other activities. Learning about biomechanics and gait deviations enables a Podiatric doctor to develop footwear and orthotics that can provide pain relief and defend against numerous complications which the feet generally experience.
